The interior of the Buffalo has been a work in progress since we got it. First step was to clean it up, next came some customization. The time finally arrived for cosmetics. All of the interior wood is original varnished plywood from 1967 in various conditions, and I'm talking builder-grade plywood, not high-end birch veneer stuff. Some of it is de-laminating, some is a little wavy, and some is just fine, structurally speaking. All of it looked tired, with visible patches and peeling varnish that has a talent for sticking to sweaty skin.

I started with replacing the bottom to one of the removable bins that are stacked in the benches. It's nice to start with the low-hanging fruit. Next came a panel that had completely rotted out. This was a tricky little bugger to get out, and even trickier to fit the new one in.
At this point the fun stuff was over. Next up was prepping for paint. So I filled all the nail holes and cracks and splits as best I could. Then I started sanding. So. Much. Sanding.
After some serious vacuuming and a good wipe down, I put the canvas back on and started priming and painting. Hinges and hardware also got some love.

After touching up some random black brackets, all that was left was to put everything back together. Everything looks fresh and ready to go, and it's so much brighter inside. Definitely worth the effort.
